Sharrow St John's,

On Sharrow lane Sheffield stands this rather imposing red brick church, it has been a slow decay into it being empty and placed up for sale, for a year there has been visits and watching of this building, now this is something I would not do alone, but I needed the fix of urban exploration having been some weeks from any real action, in I go not knowing how I was going to get out.

The property is comprised of two adjoining buildings, dating from the late 19th Century. Both the church and the church hall are of solid brick construction with stone detailing and with pitched slate roofs. The church building is quite ornate with a square tower, cupola and crenelated parapet:

Once inside those fears, was taken over, still intact was the pulpit and pews along with mats for saying thanks to etc., it was all there, what made it better for me was that Mother Earth had began to reclaim back what had been taken, there is nothing more grand than the feeling of a derelict church I love them them.

Time up and I manage to get out, meet up with a fellow time traveller, and we go back for more, there is not much there, but what is left and the feeling of time stood utter still, while outside the lights changed and the cars and buses pass on by into the suburbs of the Middle Class. The property is located in the Sharrow area of Sheffield, a short distance from the London Road shopping area:

We take our time and gather the images we had come for, I'd like to go back for some more and who knows next few days, weeks I just might, but there are bigger projects in the pipeline and I feel rather happy, the entrance and exit is another crawl through pigeon shit, here the rats with wings lay dead all over the place, and who said in dereliction there was not beauty?
